The service is free, anonymous, and continuously available. Its official fact sheet says jail feeds ordinarily update at 15- or 30-minute intervals, but each record still depends on data transmitted by the participating facility.
Le Sueur County Jail is the local custody to search. Search Le Sueur County VINELink

Read Le Sueur Custody Events
VINE distinguishes events that a current roster cannot. General release, court-order release, and bond release state different bases. Transfer means the person moved to a receiving custodian. “Unsupervised custody” can include work release or electronic monitoring in VINE's vocabulary. It does not mean every legal restraint ended.
Escape, purged record, and death also appear in the official event taxonomy. None is an ordinary release to the community. A purged record can be an administrative data event. Death is a custody-status event of a wholly different kind. Keep the event wording intact when contacting the jail.

A strong check pairs the event with another source. Match a bond-release alert to the court's bond order. Match a transfer alert to the Le Sueur transfer entry and receiving facility. Match a sentence-completion event to the case register and Sheriff's actual release time.
Register Le Sueur Release Alerts
Open the matching person record and choose the notification or registration control. Registration can use telephone, email, text, or a supported app notification. Provide the destination for the chosen method. The official material says a person does not need to give a personal name merely to search or register, and an optional account can help manage registrations.

For normal telephone events, official Minnesota material says VINE calls every 30 minutes for up to 24 hours until the correct PIN is entered. If a call is answered but not confirmed, later calls occur every two hours in that period. Voicemail does not stop retries. Normal text, email, and app events are sent once. Transfer and death events can follow delayed or nonemergency patterns.

Le Sueur VINE-to-Haven Boundary
Minnesota uses two distinct custody-notification systems. VINE covers Le Sueur County Jail and other county detention. Minnesota Haven covers Minnesota DOC prison custody and release. When a Le Sueur detainee is committed to the Commissioner of Corrections, the notification route changes.
The MNDOC Public Viewer is a status search, not a replacement for alert registration. It can show an incarcerated person or someone released from prison who remains under DOC jurisdiction. Its “Anticipated Release Date” is a forecast. An `Under Supervision` result with a release-as-of narrative is stronger evidence that prison confinement ended, while the Expiration Date marks the later end of DOC jurisdiction.

Minnesota DOC Victim Assistance lists 1-800-657-3830 and victimassistance.doc@state.mn.us for Haven. General prison-release notification is available to a person who registers. If a county transfer reaches state prison, register in the new system rather than assuming the VINE registration follows the person.
The change in systems follows the custodian, not the county where the case began. A Le Sueur court file can remain the legal source for the conviction while DOC becomes the keeper of prison status and supervision data. Haven provides the prison alert channel. The Public Viewer supplies searchable status fields. Le Sueur County Sheriff's Records remains the source for the county transfer entry that links the two parts of the timeline.
A fully discharged former state prisoner may fall outside the Public Viewer's stated coverage because it focuses on adults who remain under DOC jurisdiction. In that case, a no-result search does not erase the prison history or confirm its dates. Request historical public data from DOC Records Management and check the sentencing case. This differs from VINE's role, which is to report and notify about local detention events rather than maintain a lifetime archive.
Confirm Le Sueur VINELink Results
VINELink does not cover every custody system, and transmitted data can lag. It does not track federal Bureau of Prisons inmates. It is also not the Minnesota DOC prison notification channel. A missing result cannot establish release, and a scheduled date cannot establish that the event occurred.
Call Le Sueur County Jail for prompt operational confirmation. Then use the Sheriff's Data Request Form to ask for the identified booking's actual release date and time, legal disposition, and public receiving-agency entry. Check MCRO for the related bond, dismissal, sentence, or other order. If the record shows a transfer, search the receiving jail, Minnesota DOC, BOP, or ICE as appropriate.

If VINE reports a transfer, ask for the receiving agency before starting another search. This short chain reduces errors caused by matching a common name or reading a future date as an accomplished release.
